How our prices work
Most card apps show you one number and ask you to trust it. We'd rather show you where every number comes from.
The three markets
- US market — TCGplayer's market price, the reference for American collectors. Currency: USD.
- EU market — Cardmarket's 30-day trend, the EU-wide reference every European app uses. Currency: EUR.
- Your market — our own layer: the cheapest English, Near Mint or better copy offered right now by a seller located in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany. This is a price you can actually pay, from a seller who posts to you in a day or two — not a European average. Currency: EUR. Rolling out; shown as "soon" until a card has been priced.
What we filter out — and why it matters
A "lowest price" is only meaningful if every listing behind it is the same product. Your-market prices count only listings that are:
- English — a Japanese or German printing is a different card with a different value, so it never prices an English one.
- Near Mint or better — a Played copy is not worth a Near Mint price. Mixing conditions is the quickest way to publish a number nobody can actually buy at.
- Single cards — never lots, bundles or playsets. Counting a five-card lot as one card's price is the most common way collection apps corrupt their numbers.
- Ungraded — PSA, CGC and BGS slabs are a different product and are never mixed into raw prices.
Roughly one card in five has no seller in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany at all. We say so plainly rather than widening the net until a number appears.
Why your-market prices differ from the EU figure
They are not the same measurement, and one is often higher than the other. Cardmarket's EU "from" price is the cheapest copy anywhere in Europe in any condition and any language — frequently a Played Italian card. Your-market price is English, Near Mint or better, from a seller in NL, BE or DE. Expect them to differ; we label both rather than blending them into one number that means neither.
Aggregation & history
- Your-market price is the lowest qualifying offer, not an average — it is what the cheapest matching copy actually costs today.
- Marketplace reference prices refresh daily; every observation is archived permanently, never back-filled or edited. Your portfolio's daily value is snapshotted the same way.
What we don't do
We don't scrape anyone. Every price comes from a commercial data feed we pay for. Marketplace links are standard affiliate links, which is how the free tier stays free.
